Electronic Circuits This Weekend, Derry N.Ireland

Cracklebox Workshop & Performance

Resonance104.4fm presents a Cracklebox building workshop by the noise quartet I'm in Oscillatorial Binnage.

The Cracklebox is a unique battery-powered electronic instrument invented in the late 1960s by Michel Waisvisz of STEIM. The instrument has no keys or dials – it is instead played by touch alone, with the performer becoming part of the circuit.

In the workshop, participants will create personalised DIY versions of the original STEIM Cracklebox, exploring the effects of circuit modifications, different touch contact combinations, and interfacing with Max/MSP or Pure Data. No experience necessary. Places are limited, mail void@resonancefm.com  for a free ticket to the workshop or concert.

Workshop on Saturday 2 November 1- 5PM
